Targeted Sports Program

Our Targeted Sports Program is a facilitated program that aims enhance student’s skills across five sports. We offer specialised coaching in:

  • Rugby League
  • Netball
  • Basketball
  • Football
  • Touch Football

Within this program students are given the opportunity to be coached by specialised coaches, attend fitness and team building training sessions and further develop their knowledge on sports specific nutrition. We are fortunate to have community links with the Central Coast Mariners, Gosford/Wyong Netball Associations, Central Coast Rugby League and Central Coast Waves Basketball, all who play an integral role in assisting us with the facilitation of our Targeted Sports Program.

Students participating in the Targeted Sports Program undertake specialised development programs in their chosen sport during school time as a reportable school subject. This is integrated with a full academic curriculum which caters for the special needs of the talented sports students. The program provides:

  • A special two-hour session per fortnight with their external coach focusing on skills, drills and game play.
  • Nutrition/ motivational talks
  • A two-hour session per fortnight of external sports specific fitness training.
  • External excursions
  • Organised games against other schools

If your child wishes to be considered for the Targeted Sports Program, please download and complete the attached application forms and information pack, which contains relevant costs and dates for trials. Placement in the program is dependent on:

  • An ability, interest and potential in the nominated sport.
  • A recognisable commitment to school studies and academic performance.

Narara Valley High School prides itself on the high reputation it strives to maintain in the community.
